(IF R VOTED BEFORE ELECTION DAY: ) Did you vote in person or by absentee ballot?
Voted in person or by absentee ballot · Asked in 7 waves, 1994–2008 · 10,679 responses · weighted estimates computed from individual responses
Not loaded for 1990 and 1992: those years asked every voter whether they voted in person or absentee (92% to 94% in person), not just early voters as from 1996 on, and there is no early-vote item (VCF0748) to restrict them. 1994: asked of every voter; restricted to early voters (VCF0748 = 'some time before') to match 1996 on, with election-day voters moved to code 9 as in later years. Codes that include 'no Pre/Post IW' were dropped for respondents without that interview. Kept and flagged: 9 (other_missing).
