2016 and 2020: people who said they never discuss politics (VCF0731 = 'No'), whom the codebook puts in code 0, are coded 9 in the release; they are recoded to 0. Without this, 2016 showed 5% 'none' instead of 24%, and 2020 4% instead of 12%. Codes that include 'no Pre/Post IW' were dropped for respondents without that interview. Kept and flagged: 9 (other_missing). Codebook notes: GENERAL NOTE: Code 0 includes cases where R answered ‘yes’ to lead-in (see VCF0731) but when asked how many days in past week replied ‘never’; it also includes cases where R answered ‘no’ to lead-in.
